Surrounding its mouth is a nerve ring that’s connected to each of its arms via a radial nerve. Neurons stimulate the muscles on each of the sea star’s tube feet, which are located on the underside of its body. WebFrom the ring canal the water moves laterally out to the radial canals that run along the arms of the starfish. A double row of tube feet extend out from the oral side of the star fish. The extension and retraction of the tube feet is controlled by the valve like ampulla that are attached to each tube foot.
