That being said the 4.10's will increase that to 21,000 (with the same transmission) and reduce the strain on the transmission slightly due to the torque developed by the 4.10's. The 3.73's will tow well, and get better gas mileage. All the later model (LML) duramaxes come with 3.73's. The LSP rear ends work by transferring power back and forth between both wheels when one or the other begins to slip.
